Summary/Abstract: This contribution is seen as an attempt to describe elusiveness of communism, and particularly its attitude toward modern theories and practice of new forms of a non-segregationist community. In a social and political constellation whose primary feature is pragmatic attitude toward political antagonism, promising opennes toward the Other and alleged acknowledgement of its otherness, in which a more or less diluted understanding of human rights as a political value follows the disappearance of emancipatory policy from the public scene, there is nothing that could be less certain than the fate of communism. The question that arises is whether capitalism, which also offers an emancipatory project, but in the form of globalization, can be surpassed by the communist idea as a form and practice of emancipation.
