Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is the global economic crisis. The authors formulate the thesis that it is not limited only to financial and economic sphere, but includes political and social processes. They see the cause of this condition in the absence of social control over economic and political processes in a globalized world. They determine the current crisis as the first systemic crisis of the globalization process. This crisis, in their view, is not only a threat but a challenge. In their comments, they are trying to present the socio-economic situation in Belarus in the context of the processes occurring in the USA and the EU.
