FOLK POEMS OF BOSNIAN MUSLIMS (1866): MUVEKIT’S FOLKLORISTIC WORK: 130 YEARS SINCE HIS DEATH

Summary/Abstract: In 2018, 130 years have passed since death of Salih Sidki Effendi Hadžihusejnović-Muvekit. To the broad public Muvekit was known as a historian and author of the book „History of Bosnia“. Among other things, Muvekit also dealt with folklore work, he collected the oral creations of Bosniaks. In the newspaper „Bosanski vjestnik“ in 1886 he published five poems from his never-published collection of „Folk Poems of Bosnian Muslims“.
