Summary/Abstract: This article contributes to a better understanding of the history of the Adam Monastery, from the Covurlui County (today in the Galați County). The study focuses on two crucial moments in the history of the monastery: its dedication to Saint Catherine’s Monastery on Mont Sinai (1694-1695) and its dedication to the Metropolitan See of Moldavia and Suceava (1759). There are also added new details to the biographies of the founders, members of the noble family Adam (Movilă). These details were unknown to the family’s biographer, the historian Paul Păltânea.
