Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the quality of social support with the elderly people through: exploring attitudes about the necessary social support, available social support in kinds and forms of provided social support to elderly people and to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference in attitudes about the quality of social support with the elderly people who have the institutional and non-institutional support. In the preparation of the theoretical part of the work, the research method of theoretical analysis is used, and descriptive-analytic survey method is used in empirical part. The research sample consisted of 150 elderly people who use residential care as a form of support and 150 elderly people living in their households and do not use the residential care. The results showed a statistically significant difference in the quality of social support to the elderly people who have the institutional and non-institutional support: the elderly people that have institutional support have a higher quality of social support than the elderly people who live in their households and do not use residential care.
