Summary/Abstract: The article presents three strategies for presenting self-portraits of children created by members of the post-Yalta generation i.e. those who experienced (forced) migration as a result of the border shifts determined at the Yalta Conference in February 1945. These strategies are typical of multilingual literatures. The cases selected in this study show the diverse ways of the use of written childhood memories by authors of literary, journalistic and literary-journalistic texts. The article also intends to introduce a conceptual framework relevant to the problems of cultural borderlands.
