Summary/Abstract: This article presents family firms in Sweden and in particular analyzes the succession of the Wallenberg enterprising family. This family plays an important role in Sweden and in the Scandinavian economy as well. The article begins with outlining the characteristics of family firms in Sweden with their future challenges. Then it focuses on outlining the Wallenberg family and its recipe for the successful succession. It presents the genealogy tree with some observable patterns, e.g. regarding preferred names in the family. Next the family sphere (Wallenbergsfären) is explained with some requirements of the next generation to step into the family firm. Based on this sphere some values and norms of the Wallenbergs were provided and explained.
