Summary/Abstract: The article presents the role and importance of family businesses for business in Poland. The attention is also drawn to the innovation, opportunities and problems faced by family businesses, wishing to implement innovations to their companies. The last part of the article contains the attempt to assess the impact of the level of innovation in the development of selected family businesses.
