Summary/Abstract: Organizational culture is an important element of the development of enterprises and building their competitive position. It has an influence on the motivation of members of the organization and reflects their work satisfaction, successes and benefits. Frequently perceived by owners–managers as something obvious, this is an underestimated source of competitive advantage of small and medium–sized companies. The study presents a fragment of the results of survey on employees' perception of selected areas of business management. The main objective of the study was to point out differences and similarities in perception of selected elements of organizational culture by employees from the SME sector. Particular attention was paid to the working atmosphere and specificity of communication in enterprises of this scale. The analysis of data showed, among others, that the smaller the enterprise, the greater the influence of organizational culture on employees' loyalty and commitment to the business.
