Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyze and assess the concept of socially responsible consumer in the context of the declared consumer behavior relating to sustainable food chain. The article was used query method of literature and the analysis and evaluation of the results of own research conducted on a group of 84 respondents in December 2012. Responsible consumption means a different perspective on the money available to the consumer and for which purchases a good or service. Consumers social responsibility can, in fact, predict the impact of their purchasing decisions on society, the environment and health of themselves and others, can reasonably manage the restricted cash, and can predict the current and future consequences of their decisions. Consumer such we call it, so the last link in the sustainable food chain. Responsibility is a positive concept, though differently interpreted. Consumers want to buy products of companies engaging socially and environmentally, for which they also want to pay more.
