The Application of Quantitative Methods in Procurement Systems

Summary/Abstract: The multi-criteria decision making problem is one of the most important problems in public and non-public procurement system. The big number and diversity of criteria in the evaluation offers process forces to use more or less sophisticated methods. It very often depends on the goals which must be achieved by organizer of the tender. In this paper selected quantitative methods of multicriteria evaluation are presented with special emphasis on Promethee method. They are compared and analysed from the point of view of their usefulness in the effective choice of contractor or contractors in procurement systems.
