Summary/Abstract: The premises for the formation and development of the knowledge economy onthe society are currently in advanced stages in developed countries. The use of knowledge, in time,contributed to the social and economic development of the human community, in supporting theeconomic progress. The contemporary society becomes more and more based on knowledge andinformation, a global civilized reality. Actually, information is a strategic and fundamentalresource, - an innovative capital expansion in the industrial society. This article will try to describethe economic development of local zone by contribution of the knowledge economy.
