Summary/Abstract: The paper presents theoretical background of Logistics Maturity Modelfor service enterprises. Methodology: There were determined: phases of the industry logistics, business activity areas of a service company according to SCOR model, logistics toolsused by service companies, which were adopted from manufacturing companies, logistics maturity levels for the service sector were defined. Conclusions: According to conducted theoretical research and own observations, it was stated, that the level of logistics maturity in the service company depends on tools used in the areas of: planning, procurement, storage, inventory management, distribution and reverse logistics. The level of logistics maturity in the service sector may be referred to particular phases of the industrial logistics evolution. Research limitations (implications): The roots of the model lie in interpretation made by authors of the paper in the field of: logistics development and SCM since the 1950s and observations regarding the logistics tools used in the services sector. Practical impact: The Logistics Maturity Model for a service company will be used for scientific research carried out on Polish service industry, in order to examine the level of logistics maturity in the service sector. Originality: Logistics Maturity Model based on three dimensions of the assessment including: SCOR model, phases of the industry logistics and logistics tools, has become an original approach in the field of logistics maturity research. Moreover, the added-value of the model is that, it is dedicated for service industry, which is in research niche.
