Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess the use of RFID system (technology) and its practical use in optimizing inventory management and supply chain based on the example of the Bosch brake system plant with location in Poland. Implementation of the RFID system (Radio-frequency identification) – a technique that uses radio waves to transmit data and power the electronic system (RFID tag) which is the label of the object by the reader in order to identify the object. The product has digital information sewn into itself that can be exchanged between products and the environment during the entire production process without human intervention. In thiscase, the use of the method relies on the flow of information in the process of product delivery in the area of component supplier – producer and the impact on streamlining the process. The implementation of the RFID system contributes to: reduction of inventory by 50%; increase in inventory turn over ratio to 240; limiting the level of inventory to 1.5days in the production process; reduction of manufacturing costs; product identification in the system in real time.
