Summary/Abstract: Transport companies are characterized by a wide variety, but with a certain generalization, and can therefore be described by mathematical models which present their phenomena in a simplified way. This article proposes an analysis of the renewal processes of transport means carried out in two periods differing in the decisions of the management board on the selection of mechanical workshops. The random and hasty selection made in the first stage has been replaced by a reliable analysis of available services and the selection of the best offer. The survey showed how the decisions made influenced the readiness and reliability of the fleet.
