Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this contribution is to present the organizational and legal aspects for the establishment and functioning of the system for combating corruption in the Republic of Bulgaria from 1989 to 2019. The analysis of strategic documents, international acts, directives and regulations of the European Union, as well as normative acts of the national legislation leads to the conclusion that this system, including state bodies and respective administrative agencies, is in the process of constant improvement but still is not effective.
