Trade Credit vs. Risk of Running Economic Activity

Summary/Abstract: In the article the influence of trade credit on the risk of running a company was presented. The role of the trade credit plays in receivables management was discussed. The receivables were defined and it was shown how they impact on the security of a company. Next the trade credit was defined and characterized. There were presented the receivables management strategies and the most important tools used in the process of receivables management which determine the management policy of trade credit management. It was shown how receivables management strategy should be developed in order the management of trade credit could limit the risk of overdue debts to a minimum.
