Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article to analyze the history and practice of the "Sziget Festival," its artistic and cultural components, and to consider the genre and stylistic features of the festival program. The methodology of the study is the combination of historiographical analysis with the method of included observation. The urgency of the study is due to the lack of information in Ukrainian scientific sources on the development of contemporary festival culture in Eastern Europe. Scientific novelty. The author presents the social and communication characteristics and discloses the information principles of the organization of the festival "Sziget." His history and peculiarities of carrying out with the use of modern musical terminology are investigated. Conclusions. Based on articles in foreign specialized publications, the analysis of the festival has been carried out: it has been proved that the "Sziget Festival" is today the most significant cultural and creative tool in Hungary, also acts as the engine of inculturation processes in European society, directly affects the development of the entire Eastern European culture by uniting the visitors of the festival around social, moral, ethical, political and other actual problems of modern Europe. This festival is an optimal means of attracting a large listening audience to popularize young artists of different genres. A significant achievement of the festival is the creation of a positive image of the country among its visitors. The information provided in the article will be useful for further study of European festivals by Ukrainian scholars.
