MODERN UKRAINIAN ROCK FESTIVAL

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to analyze the history and practice of rock festivals, using the example of the “Skhid Rock” festival to identify the main features of the modern Ukrainian rock festival. Methodology: consists of combining biographical and textual analysis with the method of included observation. Scientific novelty. The author presents social and communication characteristics and reveals the informational basis for the organization of the “Skhid Rock” festival. Its history and features of the art program are investigated, modern musical terminology is used in the research. Conclusions. The article traces the process of organizing a modern rock festival in Ukraine on the example of the East Rock festival. The actual problems of Ukrainian music festivals are considered their cultural and artistic influence on the formation of values and aesthetic tastes of Ukrainian youth is clarified. For European tourists, among them, mostly rock music fans, the offer to visit Ukrainian rock festivals, in the program involving well-known performers, is attractive in terms of obtaining empirical experience that stimulates the development of musical knowledge, creative and creative abilities.
