Jazz interpretation of Alexander Zlotnik song heritage

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article is to identify jazz stylistics in the songs of Alexander Zlotnik. Methodology. In achieving this goal, the following research methods were applied: comparison, systematization, analysis, the generalization of the problem studied, articles about A. Zlotnik and the interview with the well-known composer were used. Scientific Novelty. The research consists of an attempt to identify the elements of jazz in the creative work of Alexander Zlotnik. Conclusions. It is revealed that more details of jazz are observed in the musical «Equator», to which Alexander Zlotnik created music. In it, every word is filled with meaning and carries its image. These are compositions: «Black Angel», «Yes and No», «Seagulls» and others. It is also established that jazz has been interested in this creative personality, but the songs of the composer are permeated with national melodies. Keeping the Ukrainian identity, many of them became almost famous.
