The Albanian Soul in the Guise of the Other

Summary/Abstract: The object of my paper is Polifonistët, one of the most recent novels of the Saga ballkanike [The Balkans Saga] by Luan Starova, which was published earlier on in Macedonian.The argument presented in this study is that the language in which a literary work is written does not necessarily make the novel belong to a particular national literature, due to the fact that there are many other components to be taken into consideration.First and foremost, the evidence that this specific novel belongs to Albanian literature will be supported on the novel’s content, by providing sufficient examples on the method with which we have dealt with our authors writing in other languages and how this phenomenon is regarded by other civilized cultures.
