Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to answer the following question based on theoretical research and empirical data: Which barriers to inclusion in multidisciplinary teams can be identified in the statements of social workers, i.e. the research participants? The authors first focus on the clarification of basic concepts such as inclusion in multidisciplinary teams and professional identity, then on the relationship between social work and social education, then latter of which is one of the fields of qualification education for social workers. At this point the research strategy and research sample, which consisted of 14 social workers, is described. In the analytical section the relationship of social workers to their profession is presented, following which focus is placed on their experiences regarding the role of social workers within multidisciplinary teams. Barriers to social worker inclusion in multidisciplinary teams were found to be related to identity issues regarding the profession along with the low prestige of social work.
