Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Research is to identify the place and role of ballets on music by Ukrainian composers in the work of V. Vronskyi and the development of the ballet theater of Ukraine. Мethodology. An objective analysis of the scientific literature, the use of the problem-chronological method to reproduce the panorama of V. Vronskyiy's choreographer in the context of the development trends of the ballet theater of Ukraine, the use of typology during the conditional distribution of ballet performances by groups allowed a scientifically weighted study. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty consists in proving the contextuality of V. Vronskyiy's work in relation to the Ukrainian ballet theater, carrying out the differentiation of the ballet performances of the creator to the music of Ukrainian composers. Conclusions. Ballet mastery of V. Vronskyi in Ukraine played an important role in consolidating the main trends in the development of the ballet theater of the mid-twentieth century, among which important are the embodiment of the modern theme, symphony, the expansion of the figurative and thematic range and the psychologization of images, organic synthesis of Ukrainian folk and classical choreography in the ballets of national themes. Rather conditionally, ballets to the music of Ukrainian composers in the work of V. Vronskyi can be divided into two groups: the editors («Lileia» by K. Dankevych–H. Berezova, «Forest Song» by M. Skorulskyi–S. Serhieiev) and original productions («Olesia» by Yu. Rusynov, «Poem about Maryna» by B. Yarovynskyi). These ballets made it possible to realize the talent of not only the choreographer and director of classical dance, but also an expert on the Ukrainian folk dance, a skilled creator painted with folklore motifs of choreographic forms.
