Scientific novelty of the article is that for the first time in this article an analysis of foreign sources, including available thesis devoted to the problems of reforming the teaching methods of pop vocal, has been carried out. In-depth knowledge of the specifics of the role of the accompanist in this process. Rehabilitation of the figure of an accompanist, which is usually considered as secondary, has been carried out. The importance of the accompanist’s work in the rehearsal process is emphasized. Conclusions. Modern conditions require from the accompanist of the pop vocal studio mastering the skills of possession of technical means. Also, there are several requirements that are more relevant to the traditional, classical set of techniques required to learn the accompanist. The activities of the accompanist are subject to the style and methodology of the team leader and are the basis for work on the repertoire. But the role of the accompanist is not secondary, because without his/her participation it is impossible to work on improving the performing skills of the vocalist entirely. A successful vocal arrangement and a well-formed vocal device make it possible to reveal the creative potential of the singer fully. This is the main work of the accompanist of the pop band because he must consider the specificity of the pop artist, who acts simultaneously both the singer and the actor. By these peculiarities, the accompanist has to select and require the complexes of approaches and techniques.
