Summary/Abstract: The motivation behind choosing this theme was given by the failure of the risk management methods regarding the banking system in Romania during the pre-crisis period (I refer in particular to the credit risk and to the application of very low credit standards), but also at the international level, proving that the period of deregulation before the crisis led to the weakening of the risk management and prevention systems.
