Summary/Abstract: Based on the material of a little-known Ukrainian playwright and cultural-ecclesiasticalleader, a member of the literary grouping „Logos” Hryhor Luzhnytskyi (1903−1990)the paper discovers his artistic embodiment of the category sacrum in the external andinternal structure of his religious and Christian plays. It proves the interdependence of thiscategory as well as the content and the creative form coverage of such a type of dramas by Hryhor Luzhnytskyi. Simultaneously, it outlines the traditions of creating religious andChristian literature, particularly dramaturgy, in the Ukrainian spiritual-cultural context, aswell as in the world writing.
