Functioning of color in the Russian linguoculture space

Summary/Abstract: The color in the culture of many nations plays an important role and is an important component of human functioning. In the names of colors reflected is the conceptualization of the world of colors seen through the prism of culture. This article analyzes the color lexis and its place in the Russian linguo-cultural area. The subject of the research is color semiotics on various levels of human activity. Moreover, the analysis has shown that the names of colors are not only a semiotic carrier of a specific color spectrum, but also a sign determining human preferences, their worldview, religion or social attitude.
