Summary/Abstract: Although the laws of Romania prohibit all forms of human trafficking, the country’s strategic geographical location - between Eastern and Western - transforms it into a source, transit point, and destination country for human trafficking. Furthermore, the accession to the European Union in 2007 brought a relaxation of border regime, thus lure international traffickers.
