Summary/Abstract: Problem behaviors taken by the youth are constantly evolving area, in which new phenomena, and the pace and nature of change requires the regular monitoring. Undertaken by young people actions bringing with it the risk of disrupting or loss of health, as well as jeopardize the proper social functioning determine the need to search and update the knowledge of the factors that are determinants of the analyzed processes. Their identification and discovery of interconnections increases the possibility of constructing a more adequate, adapted to current realities of preventive and therapeutic interventions. The aim of this study is to present the links between adolescent problem behaviors and social support received from family and closest environment. Among the problematic behaviors considered aggressive behaviors aimed at infliction of psychological or physical harm to others and the use of psychoactive substances. The study involved 101 students (54 boys and 47 girls) aged 16–19 years attending secondary schools in Lodz. The relationship between variables was established using correlation coefficients and multiple regression. Our results indicate that among the factors relevant to the occurrence of problem behaviors included, among others.: support from parents and teachers, the support of friends from school and settlement and aid received from siblings and relatives. Among the analyzed types of support relevant to the risky behaviors were the information, evaluative and instrumentalsupport.
