Summary/Abstract: The article provides a comparative analysis of the Slavic theme in the lyrics of F. I. Tyutchev and in his historiosophical works. The Slavic world, in the perception of the poet, is a special historical and cultural phenomenon, without which it is impossible to interpret the relations between Russia and the West. While the articles ("Russia and Germany", "Russia and the Revolution", "Papacy and the Roman Question") deal primarily with the ontological opposition between Russia and the West, in the political lyrics it is Slavism that is given priority. In poetry Tyutchev uses the concepts of Slavic world, brotherhood, unity, Slavic family, and pan-Slavism. The phrase Slavic world carries in this context primarily Christian, and Orthodox semantics. The unity of the Slavic world and, therefore, its historical mission are possible, according to Tyutchev, provided that the love that was brought into the world by the Christian doctrine is preserved. Ivan Aksakov, the first to draw attention to this issue of Tyutchev's work as very personal for the poet, managed to determine the reasons and the nature of the integrity of his spiritual personality in the "Biography of Fedor Ivanovich Tyutchev".
