Implementation of International Cooperation Based on the Strategic Documents Provinces (on the Example of the Warmia and Mazury)

Summary/Abstract: Implementation and prospects of international cooperation, mainly regional action adaptation to European standards, are reflected in the strategic documents provinces. In this context, a review of these documents defining foreign aspirations of the region – strategy for socio-economic development and international cooperation priorities for the region. The analysis shows that all Polish regions have a vision, plans and intentions regarding cooperation with foreign partners. Their priorities have certain characteristics in common (promotion of the region on the international stage, attracting partners for cooperation and funding for cooperation, cooperation in the field of international projects active in international institutions and associations) and differences, which manifested in the geographical features, historical, economic, and political and cultural. The analysis also confirms the great importance of the existing strategic documents for the Warmia and Mazury, and showing foreign plans, which is reflected in the regional strategy as well as provincial priorities. With these documents executed in the province international cooperation is an essential element of modern economic development policy, and facilitates the development of a comprehensive economic and non-economic exchange.
