Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to identify the characteristic features of the creative and pedagogical activity of representatives of German-Austrian and Czech musical art, which contributed to the origin and formation of the Odessa piano school. To explore the indirect influence of Italian musicians, which had a beneficial effect on the concert life of the city. Methodology. When considering the peculiarities of the cultural fund of piano art in the city of Odessa from the 19th and early 20th centuries, R. Rosenberg's approach was used to reveal the influences of representatives of foreign traditions on regional culture, drawing on the latest developments of domestic scholars. Scientific novelty consists in the introduction of a systematic approach to the consideration of multinational influences on concert, social, and pedagogical activities of representatives of the Western European piano tradition. The involvement of a comprehensive approach to detecting cultural influences on the Odessa pianistic school makes it possible to trace the original components of the Odessa performing tradition. Conclusions. The combination of creative, performing, and pedagogical activity of local musicians in cooperation with the active cultural-educational work of famous artists of European culture led to the formation of a distinctive, professional Odessa piano school, the development of which has been traced over two centuries since the XIX century to the present. The highly professional pedagogical, organizational and performing activities of D. von Ressel, R. Helm, K. Lagler, I. Tedesco contributed to raising the cultural level of local music lovers, educating musicians and performers who, with their further pedagogical work, continued the traditions of the Leipzig, Vienna, Prague Conservatory.Inheritance of the best examples of Western European piano tradition contributed to the formation of a highly professional creative and methodological base of the Odessa College of Music, which was subsequently reorganized into the Odessa Conservatory. The active concert life of the city, involving tour performances by prominent musicians, significantly raised the level of local musicians, which reflected on the further development of the musical culture of Odessa. The direct participation of Italian performers in the creative life of the opera house allowed the inhabitants of the city to get acquainted with the best works of composers of the past and present. Thanks to the regular chamber and vocal concerts of Italian performers the repertoire of home music was enriched.
