Summary/Abstract: The teacher who passionately undertakes didactical, caring tasks, may become an authority for their student, who will be a base of building mature choices and make correct choices. Such preparation is highly influenced by students’ apprenticeship trainings. The article is a review of the legal regulations concerning the standards of educating teachers, in this regulation, as far as the qualifications required from teachers are concerned. The authors also point out the problem of competences which should be in possession of an entrant of a teacher’s profession to meet the employer’s requirements. Undoubtedly, the apprenticeship trainings play an important part during academic studies. Acting as authorized representatives of rectors for students’ apprenticeship, the authors of the article meet both students, who share their experiences, and employers – headmasters and teachers, who express their opinion on students’ preparation to fulfill a teacher profession. All these factors have become a reason for writing this article.
