Summary/Abstract: Remiantis antikos filosofo Senekos raštais (pirmiausia „Laiškais Lucilijui“) ir taikant analitinį bei lyginamąjį metodus straipsnyje nagrinėjama originali šio mąstytojo etikos sistema, kurios esmė – asmenybė. Seneka nebuvo grynas teoretikas ir tampa toks tik Lucilijaus prašomas. Tačiau dėl to Senekos filosofija netampa mažiau vertinga. Jo filosofijos tradicijas tęsė vėlesnių epochų mąstytojai. Based on the letters of ancient Roman philosopher Lucius Annaeus Seneca, frst of all “Letters to Lucilius”, and us-ing the analytical and comparative methods, the article highlights the original ethical system of this thinker, who puts personality in the center. Seneca undertakes pure theory as if unwillingly, only asked by Lucilius. However, Senecas philosophical legacy does not become less valuable. His philosophical traditions were continued by fa-mous thinkers of later times.
