Summary/Abstract: Although work migration is one of sociological topics dealt with since the begining of the discipline, it has not still been discussed at length. Every new migration wave brings about fresh trends and phenomena worth analising. Pendulum work migration is one of them. This kind of migration ifluences the quality of life in both: families and marriges. Apart from the negative oaftereffects (euroorphanhood), migration can stimulate to very creative ideas eg: how to solve the problem of looking after children left in the country. According to the latest findings, pendulum work migration does not stop a parent fromtaking care of their child. The offspring continues to be looked after in a form oftransnational parenthood. Bringing up from distance involves applying different parental strategies. In order to function properly, migrating families need varried institutional support.
