Summary/Abstract: The author investigates the issue of sovereignty through the relationship between modern politics and International Law, particularly by analyzing the modern shift of that relationship in which the scope of the International Law has widened, whereas the fact that it is based on the will of sovereign states is denied. The author expresses his view and argues that the intertwining of politics and law is harmful for politics and that it is necessary to view them as different spheres of action. Accepting the principle of sovereignty, which is a significant part of the international law, gives a solid basis for International Relationships and is the only way of confronting the power politics.
