Some Actual Problems of the Black Sea Region

Summary/Abstract: The Black Sea region, which has a strategic importance, have been faced with many conflicts during the history. The stability in the region has changed after the Soviet Union had collapsed which led to the establishment of new states along the Black Sea. The vivid revolutions, supported by the West, took place first in Georgia and then in Ukraine, have not only started a new struggle, but also caused many issues to appear in the region. Frozen conflicts, problems in the boundaries, the struggles in the religious area, expansionist politics are the reasons of why the states in the Black Sea have failed in their attempts of integration along several organizations. This paper will talk about the issues in the region as well as the the struggle given for the region during the history and the importance of the Black Sea region.
