Summary/Abstract: The paper presents demographic processes taking place in three communes adjacent to Wroclaw: Dlugoleka commune, Czernica commune and Siechnice commune. The socio-economic development is also denominated by analyzing many functional aspects of the commune and its inhabitants. The development is described by prognostic features that are chosen according to a specified criteria. Attempts are made to demonstrate a relationship between human capital and local development.
