Thematic Analysis of the Films of "Ukrkinochronics" of 2013 Through the Prism of Genres

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the Article. The study involves the identification of transgenic genres in modern Ukrainian documentary literature, the creative process of which consists of the use of some genre varieties. Drawing on the subject field of the documentary - films of 2013, the article is subordinated to the solution of the issue in its components: the determination of themes and fundamental ideas of the content of that period, the identification of artistic authoring platforms and modifications of the genre spectrum in documentary films. Methodology. The research method consists of the analytical analysis of the genre-thematic aspect of the documentary films of the studio "Ukrkinochronika" in 2013. Using the methods of temporal logic, the article determines the cause-effect relations of the emergence of certain themes and genres in the conditions of the allocated time. Scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the author's field of research achieves little-studied documentary films of the studio "Ukrkinochronica", which never got into the scientific revolution of the genre spectrum format. The article first systematises the creative experience of famous Ukrainian filmmakers of the new period, which will serve as a new theoretical material for potential scientific research of Russian art critics. Conclusions. Using formal logical reasoning, publications analysing the use of various genres in works of the audiovisual sphere are analysed. The films of the studio "Ukrkinochronika" of 2013 are considered, in the aspect of defining the themes and fundamental ideas of the content of that period. The innovativeness of the creative process manifested in the multidimensionality of using genre varieties in each screen work is characterised. It is proved that genres are mixed in documentaries of Russian documentary filmmakers of the present day, in the works of which an active manifestation of the world trend towards multi-genre in one film as a factor in enriching the possibilities of creative expression was revealed.
