DEFINITION AND SCOPE OF HEALTH TOURISM AND TURKEY

Summary/Abstract: Health tourism includes traveling from one's normal place of accommodation to a country or region for the purpose of receiving medical (organ transplantation, surgeries, dental and eye treatments, diagnostic services, etc.) or non-medical (plastic surgery operations, wellness and fitness, geriatric care and treatments, etc.) services. Although those who make use of health tourism benefit from different vacation opportunities in line with their travels, their primary purpose is to use a certain health service. The subject of this study is to develop the current situation of health tourism, which is rapidly developing all over the world, in Turkey.
