Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Article. The primary goal of the research is to reveal the features of the performing art of Tatyana Tayakina in the Ukrainian ballet theater of the 1970s-1980s. Methodology. The methodology of the study is based on the analysis of historiography and sources which have made possible to systematize the facts of the creative path of T. Tayakina and to reach the profound conclusions. The scientific novelty consists in revealing the features of the performing art of Tatyana Tayakina in the Ukrainian ballet of the 70-80s. of the XX century. Conclusions. The analysis of the historiography of the research topic was proved by the absence of a comprehensive analysis of the performing creativity of T. Tayakina in the context of the development of the Ukrainian ballet theater. The key to the future performance success of T. Tayakina was the early identification of choreographic abilities (the Palace of Pioneers, Kiev) and training at the Kiev Choreographic School among the leading experts of the classical dance (V. Mei, G. Kirillov, etc.). A wide range of T. Tayakina’s creative roles was realized in the performances of the Kyiv GATob. in the master performance of the leading parties of the ballets of the classical heritage (Svanilda, Odette Odile, Aurora, Giselle, Masha, Kitri, Sylphide, etc.), ballets of the Soviet period (Juliet, Anna in Anna Karenina, Shirin in Legend of love, "etc.), Ukrainian ballets (Mavka in Lesnoy Pesni, the ballet" In the Name of Life "). Strengthening talent and spread the glory of the ballerina contributed to her cocreation with partner V. Kovtun. The international ballet forums’ wins in Varna (Bulgaria, 1970), Moscow (Russia, 1973) and Paris (France, 1977) contributed to the raise of Ukrainian dancers’ prestige in the world choreographic scene. The outstanding level of technical perfection of the ballerina and her bright acting manner of performance remain an excellent example for the modem generation of dancers.
