Summary/Abstract: The article considers the mentality and the thesis of historicism in the practice of higher historical education in Ukraine, and historicism is used as the principle of scientific knowledge of historical phenomena and events by means of which it is possible to obtain true knowledge of the past, contemporary and prospects of the future. The purpose of the article is to disclose the concept of “mentalityˮ and “mentalityˮ as a system of elements of the spiritual life of man. The research methodology is based on historical, logical, analytical and general methodological approaches. Novelty of research. The article attempts to reveal the integration of mentality and historicism in historical education, creation with the help of historical education of individuality, which will affect the formation of historical consciousness and the civic position of the individual.
