Summary/Abstract: The study aimed to establish the relationship between social support and sense of quality of life in adolescents - wards of children’s homes. Results of 60 adolescents (29 boys and 31 girls), aged 11-17 years (M=14,8 SD=2,0) were analyzed. Subjective Quality of Life Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents and Social Support Scale were used in the study. Social support appeared positively associated with sense of quality of life (total result) and two its dimensions, it is ability to act/ self-reliance and group membership. Taking into account the different types of social support significant correlations with the overall quality of life relate to emotional support, and to a lesser extent – evaluative support. The last one appeared the predictor of satisfaction of life. Taking into account various sources of social support, support from classmates and from tutors allow to predict the higher sense of quality of life in examined adolescents.
