Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to draw attention to the improvement of the so-called‚ life skills’ in the family as one of the methods to prevent addictions in children and teenagers. The role of the family is not only to support the school in its preventive measures, but also to initiate activities that will help the child to acquire, from an early age, certain skills. This will enable the child to cope with psychosocial problems and enhance his or her adaptive behaviors, making him or her capable of effectively coping with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
