Summary/Abstract: The first Islamic community has had a political identity from the very beginning. The Muslims who have not the instruments to impose themselves to the environment in the Meccan period, have made an effort to solve this problem and eventually imigrated to Medina. Medina was a period in which Muslims were more visible in the political arena and made their presence accepted by the other communities. Some of the suras and verses revealed in this period becomes involved in the process to make them acquire and develop their political identity as well as to enlighten them on the obstacles oriented in their paths. In this article, the elements that make the first Islamic community “political” will be discussed by following some suras and verses revealed in the Medina period.
