Summary/Abstract: The translation given is the first attempt to interpret the Old Bulgarian version of Patriarch Germanos’ ΙΣΤΟΡΙΑ ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑΣΤΙΚΗ into a contemporary language (Bulgarian). The interpretation is based upon the Old Bulgarian text, but the Byzantine original is also taken into consideration. The text is provided with exhaustive linguistic and cultural comments.
