Economic education in penitentiaries and attitudes, experience of the Fundacja Zielony Promień

Summary/Abstract: The article describes educational activities of the Fundacja Zielony Promień aimed at customer financial awareness and banking services. The first part of the article presents the foundation and its major fields of interest. The above mentioned framework refers to reports which arethe starting point of the low level of financial knowledge of Poles. On the basis of the presented results it may be stated that the economic attitudes are at the low level. That may cause problems in dealing with financial institutions and financial management to people who were imprisoned. The second part of the article tackles the problem of attitude and the ability to create attitudes by appropriate means offered by the foundation. As a result, the foundation calls for development of new educational tools which allow to create particular attitudes, and not only the knowledge which rarely follows desired behaviour.
