Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the way families can support prevention of risk behaviours among young people. This prevention is mainly implemented by such institutions as schools. School has both preventive and educational role. Family is the first educational environment of a child. Parents take active part in the socialisation process which later affects the function of young people in their adulthood. The main task of the family is to prepare children to function properly in the society. Risk behaviours can have an irreversible effect on function of the person living in the community.
