Summary/Abstract: The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between the reading speed and prosodic readings of the sixth grade students in the secondary school. The research is of correlational design of quantitative research methods. The population of the research consists of the sixth grade students in the secondary school in the city center of Yozgat in the academic year 2018-2019. There are a total of 418 students in the sample. In order to determine the reading speed of the sixth grade students in the secondary school, a text from the sixth grade Turkish textbook was read. In addition, prosodic reading scale was used. The average reading speed of the students was determined as x̄=104.94. In other words, the number of words that the middle school sixth grade students read aloud in one minute is 105. Audition reading scores of the sixth grade students in the secondary school x̄=2.53; S= .69.
