Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to adapt The Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ; Brown, Miller, & Lawendowski, 1999) to Bulgarian language- and cultural specifics. The analysis of the psychometric characteristics of Bulgarian version of SRQ is carried out on the data of online study of 319 subjects - 122 males and 197 females aged 17-74. The statistical analysis included: exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, item analysis, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, descriptive statistics, one- and two-way ANOVA. Bulgarian version of the SRQ consists of 42 items representing one factor (as in the original version of the questionnaire). The internal consistency of the scale is very high (α = 0,94). The correlation between shortened and full version of the questionnaire is very high: r = 0.95, i.e., the removal of the items of low factor loading does not cause loss of valuable information. SR-42 has good psychometric characteristics and adequately corresponds to the original version. SR-42 can be used as a reliable tool for diagnosing self-regulation skills. The questionnaire is applicable in the field of self-regulation, personality, in consulting and therapy. We recommend the use of SR-42 for studying dependencies and eating disorders.
